Now most of our e30's being 20 odd years old and parts being almost readily accessible granting you have the funds, how does everyone insure there car? Is it worth it to some of you to put full coverage on it, me, i did absolutley no coverage, if anything breaks i will fix it myself, but i have been thinking about it and how more coverage will cost more but might save me money and time in the long-run, i just want to know how everyone else feels about this.
How much do you love your car?

I have full covereage.. it was definitely worth it when I got in an accident. -
I have full coverage on my DD eta since it sits in a gravel lot a lot and I drive it a lot in cities and such. I just have liability on my turbo car since most of the time I drive it on back roads and it sits in a garage 50 miles from where I live 9 months out of the year.:: PNW Crew ::

Full Coverage
I can't afford to fix any major accidents that might happen to my car. I also like to have it insured against theft, hit-and-run, etc. Insurance companies will also fight for accidents to not be your fault more because then they wont have to pay as much or any.sigpicComment

e30s are a dime a dozen still... and when you completely mess one up, insurance won't fix them because they are that old. I just have liability, and worst case scenario i'll go from one e30 to another. plus swapping all the parts is fun for me. (i've only had to do this once, and I'm not anticipating doing it again. just sayin')Comment

i have liability only. my car is a throw away if something happens. ill get another shell and transplant it all over or whatevers left. i cant see putting full coverage on any old pos e30 unless its an m3Comment

+1
Full coverage on a non-M E30 is just asking for the insurance company to total it. With enough door dings, an adjuster can easily total an otherwise good E30.San Diego BMW repair -> Jake @ www.littlecarshop.com Great guy :up:Comment

I disagree. My car is in the shop having $2800+ in work done on it paid for by the insurance company of the lady who hit me. Since the liability of the accident was up in the air both insurance companies took quotes, etc for the damage and neither would have totalled it.
Full coverage is also nice for those that are in college or not making much money at this point in their life. While losing a $3-5K car is not much for some of us, others might be losing more that they can afford to shell out for a replacement.sigpicComment

Full coverage on the M3s, liability on the jeep.
I'd only do liability on a non-M unless I had a super clean one like RCWells where I came to an agreed upon value with the ins. company.

Just having full coverage on the e30 isn't going to save it as any fender bender will be enough for them to total it, unless you and your insurance company came to an agreed value in case something happens to the car..Mtech1 v8 build thread - https://www.r3vlimited.com/board/sho...d.php?t=413205
