Anyone think this trailer hitch would work??

The price is right - could bolt right up to an aluminum bumper. Does it seem unsafe?

Truth be told, you could bolt this on a plastic bumper and it will stay on just fine. The real issue is what you decide to attach to the hitch.

But seriously, it would be unsafe to bolt this directly to an aluminum
bumper. Its designed to be bolted to the step bumper of a truck where the steel is thicker and the bumper is designed to pull other vehicles. If you bolt that to your aluminum bumper the trailer is going to pull a dent in your bumper.

if it doesnt totally remove the bumper from the car.

and i wouldnt do it either. find something a lot more secure that will mount to something stronger.

better to be safe than sorry.

I had something like that on my 2002, but I removed it. It bolted to the bottom of the AL bumper, then tot he rear valance and then to the floor board of the trunk. The PO just towed a very small sailboat with it.. I could see it alright to tow a jetski or track tires etc.

You could probably install a nice class 2 hitch with the slot type reciever and then cut a discreet slit in the bumper and put the appropriate size and shaped rubber plug in the hole when the hitch is not in use.
