Just got home from italy! Check out car pics (a couple e30s)

I just flew in from 10 days in italy. well, 3 in Rome,2 in Sienna, Volterra, Pisa and Lucca (all in two days), 3 in Florence, and 2 in Venice. It was awesome! e30 count: 5. 2 hard top 316i (see pics), 2 cabrio's no pics, and 1 touring (no pics, sorry). The two 316i's seemed a little strange to me, but then I soon realized they skimped on engines all over italy, my lawn mower has a bigger engine than some of the cars there. Check out the pics (BMW's first) then some other sweet cars I ran into!

trip was a vacation with the family... it was cool. that was definatly not a focus. I forget the name, its not a car we have in the US though.

It's called Fiesta in Brazil.

The Mercedes is the A-class.... wouldnt call it a mini-van. It's too small even for that.

Yea, it was an A-class banz! crappy! The car we drove in was a c200. it was a glorified honda! let me tell you... the mercedes in italy are shit! US ones are much nicer, all taxi's were mercedes. crap!

If Mercedes is going to produce a car which is destined to be a taxi, why would they spend the extra money to make it luxurious.

The US only gets the luxury/sports cars that Meredes builds.

Love the A2 get the 1.4tdi or the new 1.2fsi and go, the tdi makes over 70mpg, eco, can't beat the combo Audi luxury and engineering, mad mileage and its got a good look to it.

The car is alright.... there's one running around here in Miami. Millions of them in Brazil tho... I can't stand the Honda S2000ish instrument cluster.

Two words: Fuel Economy

When gasoline (petrol :D ) is ~$5 per gallon you don't want to be driving a gas-guzzler around. Those cars were produced to be able to drive around on the tiny streets of Europe and be very fuel efficient. They accomplish both tasks, which is why they're popular over there.

Cars in Brazil usually have 1.0 liter engines. I already did 160km/h on one of those..... on a abandoned 4 lane highway on the downhill..... WOT all the way down :P

i guess the gas prices are a good reason... but a top speed of 160 km/h DOWNHILL WOT... is what like 100 miles per hour? I do that almost daily, i need to on highways around here, seems no fun!
