But running the VIN produced M20 B25?! I mean, wouldn't it have to be manufactured that way? It says '84.. hmmm...
Maybe you got some special version from Europe? Why would someone go through the trouble of swapping in a B25 and new cluster? I'm still confused with the results that the VIN produced.

I can see how this is going to end up.... Your car is worth millions...billions... It is the rarest E30 on earth..... It is the only E ever produced with an I motor....BMW will be contacting you in a few days to purchase this mistake.....It's like that dollar bill with the dole sticker on it....a rarity....don't let big business get their hands on this one of a kind collectors item!
Seriously, first guy that can explain this VIN is the only one on this board that isn't a noob.

First off i know this thread is a bit old, but rather than make a new one i figured id just ask the question here. So did anyone figure this out, cause i found another early bmw with the same engine code claiming the m20b25.
ps i did search but this is the only thread that was related to my search that came up, if i suck at search i apologize ;)90 535i
