I picked up the same 1000lb stand from Harbor Freight. They are probably ok for M20s, and most 4 cylinders but when you start to weight them down the wheels start acting shitty.

If I buy another stand it will be the 2000lb one.

We had a Chevy 350 on a three wheeled stand in our shop for over 5 years, moving it when we needed it out of the way. Never had a problem with it. We even rolled it from our shop behind our house to the front of the house across DIRT and didn't have a problem.

I think it is a matter of the quality of the stand, flexing and what not. Considering you are buying from harbor freight, I would go with the 1000 pounder. The 2000 pound one is way to big. It looks basically like a cherry picker stand with a motor mount on it.
