Running staggered setups are useless and increase understeer unless your car happens to be so powerful that 215's won't contain the beast or oversteers terribly. Stick with the same size all around and I think you will be better off.
It may increase understeer a little bit, but on the street you won't notice... Alpina ran staggered setups on pretty much everything in the '80s, and all the road tests say that the handling is amazing.
A staggered setup will also help with tramlining that may be caused by directional tires. I ran a 205/55 and 225/50 stagger on my first 6er and my 5er for a while. I didn't notice more understeer, but I did notice a huge improvement in tracking on the highway. HUGE.
My only intent for running staggered, is looks. The 225's in the front look slightly out of place.
Overall I think it would look better. As far as the power is concerned, this car will be producing in the area of 325-350HP. Is that enough power for you? I am assuming you are referring to throttle steering...
