At least you get what I'm saying. That was personal experience speaking right there. I don't wish Audi reliability on my worst enemy.
They never fix the problems before moving onto the next new idea.
Quattro had been one of the few constants that they have that ironed out pretty well, but who in their right mind makes the HVAC controls all run on vacuum pressure, and a ton of little electrical interface servos? Audi.

Come on, Audi - stick to the basics of a simple AWD and a motor you commit to over the years. Quit skipping around and doing random stuff that becomes service work inside of 18 months anyhow.

I had a 4000 quattro, and I'd have killed to have had a 325ix instead, heck I'd have taken one of those dorky Honda AWD wagons over that frickin' quattro - that Audi was such a waste of time with all the service it saw.

It's not how you handle the good times, but the faith you keep in the bad that defines you.

Lol, I can say the same thing about some people taking their Subarus, BMW, Mitsubishis to their dealer. Half the time it's not the car but the dealer who isn't capable of fixing whatever is broken the first time right.

Modern German cars are crap. They're unreliable and they're designed to attract women because they make most car buying decisions.

How difficult is it to make a blinker that works consistently past 50k miles. Excellent handling? yeah right!! more like excellent clunking. How many miles does the trans run before the output shaft seal leaks? did you ever see a bmw without oil leaks? They've been making those I6's for some 20 years... freakin' M20 was busting head bolts; more recently the e46 M3 had some oil pump failure; it's pitiful. Electronics are shit... sunroof that doesn't always close, door locks that work intermittently, $2,000 A/C repair bill (warranty just expired), creaky windows, exploding air-bag... oh remember those first generation X5's catching fire?.. what kind of idiot is going to put up with all that?

Last, but not least, the new bmw's have no tool box; that's because 99.999% of women drivers will call a tow truck before touching a screw-driver.

          Thats a joke right?
Hemingway said it best. “There are only three sports: bullfighting, motor racing, and mountaineering; all the rest are merely games.”

            Good point as well.

I really liked that marketing move by Rover to sell Disco's by giving free maintenance for life, or something like that to the original owner.

Rover sold the crap out of those Disco's, but the rig downright sucked and had so many problems the dealers were overloaded with service work, so your car sat there waiting to be fixed for extended lengths of time.

There's a "I hate Disco's" site somewhere that chronicled the life of one owner and his log of dealership visits. No joke, he made 3 separate visits over his driver seat latch being broken! And the list got worse from there.

How a company can botch a rig as badly as Disco's are built, and then make a rig like the Defender series that are so solid, I just don't get it.

It's not how you handle the good times, but the faith you keep in the bad that defines you.

These comericals do make me laugh, but how many of you have actually driven or been underneath a new BMW? BMW lost the plot back in the 90's Bmw has built an excellent name for themselves and now they can produce utter shit and people will still buy it. Just like Mercedes and Audi.

THIS made me laugh, why do people assume Defenders are built well? Quite honestly everything that has come out of the Land Rover fatory since day one has been a bag a bolts. Its just that on Defenders there is nothing to go wrong, get a basic Disco with a manual gearbox and clothseats, like they were supposed to be and you'll come out with a great piece of gear. Quite simiply any Land Rover is like a bad woman, you know its wrong but you just can't help going back for more. Haha Yes this is coming from a Land Rover owner

I disagree. To say ALL performance cars are compared to the M3 is an exageration.
More than often I belive the 911 was concidered the car to beat.

Apples and oranges. 911 and ///M3 are different cars with different purposes. 911 is a no-compromise sports car. ///M3 is a very fast and agile sports sedan (yes sedan can be used for coupes). The ///M3 is more compromise between luxury, comfort, practicality, and performance. :) ///M3 owns the sports sedan category (of which it invented the category back with the 2002) and Porsche is the measuring stick of sports car.
