i think it just has to have turn signals, headlights and brake lights, and a speedometer.

mirrors, dot approved tires. and you will need to title it for registration and ins. purposes.

Also the noise level has to go down, the best you can do is to check out the KDX, that's the street version two stroke, all the parts can be purchased directly from the dealer.

BTW, do not hook lights to your magneto ignition, it's an internal rotor assembly, and goes well beyond 12 volts, you have to replace the magneto with an external rotor generator, or if not use a voltage regulator to limit the voltage so you do not blow bulbs at high RPM's.

        good luck.

didnt realize it was a kx. 2 strokes are not streetable due to emissions output. shit alot of parks by me wont even let you ride them in the trails.

Sorry if i misled, KDX's here are street bikes, I didn't know that you could not drive a 2 stroke in the street there.

dunno about you guys but here we just have to get the grinder on the bit that says "NOT FOR HIGHWAY USE" as long as it doesn't have that the tyre is sweet.

In NH all you need is: Headlight, Brake light, Squeaky horn.

Street title it, register and inspect it.

                  2 stroke or 4 stroke

Just put some street tires on it, and call it a day... who needs insurance?

Not too brilliant. Especially when you see a cop behind you and he doesn't see a plate on the back of your bike.

I live on the edge of town, and when I had dirt bikes I'd ride from my house out a little further to where the trailhead into the riding area was - if I got passed by a sheriff they would always stop and ask me what I was doing. Every time, no exception. Granted, I got to know most of the sheriffs - and they didn't mind since they knew me too, but it was their job to tell me to get off and push until they were out of sight. But I knew I wasn't following the law, and they knew that I knew it too.

If your idea was a good one, you'de see tons of dirt bikes, quads, and 3 wheelers in town. Funny, I don't see that going on anywhere.

As much as it's a fun idea, it would land you with a citation these days. So much for saving cash on gas.

It's not how you handle the good times, but the faith you keep in the bad that defines you.

I know this is for motor scooters and mini bikes, but I assume it is the same as a motor cycle:

                        It says you need:

"a seat, not more than three wheels in contact with the ground, contain the proper brake lights, turn signals, horn, rear view mirrors and headlights"

Seems simple enough. I don't know about emissions though...

No offense, but a KX125 will make a REALLY lousy street bike. You are best off starting with a larger engined 4 stroke bike. I once legalized a 95 KTM 250EXC - that too was a lousy street bike. 2 strokes don't really like to be held at constant throttle/speed.

don't you also have to put a wind deflector on them?
