    Time to reshell my M50!

Last weekend I was supposed to be having the inner and outer rear arch repaired in preperation for my MOT(UK vehicle check) which expires last weekend.
Had the other side done a couple of weekends ago.
Anyway rain put stop to the work being done on time so decided while the car was off the road id swap the standard headling for the Black one i have from a breaker.
All went well and less than an hour later i was ready to rip the old one out.
    This is what i find...................

Needless to say i was pissed off, very.
After listening to lots of advice/tips/hints/ideas on the e30zone i gave long thought to what i actually want to do.
To repair it properly would mean getting a new sunroof tray which are NLA so a good secondhand one would have to be sourced. The car would then require a full respray as no doubt the roof skin would ripple.
Anyway ive given it much thought and have decided this shell has now run its course.
I am just not in a position to pay around £1500 to get the whole car repainted. Also im a bit bothered that ill just be chasing more rust in hidden places.
Anyway i have now bought a very clean and original Facelift model.
It is a 2 door in Vulcan Grey(never seen another in this colour?).
I pick it up on Sunday coming and the swap over of parts will start immediately.
I need this car back on the road in less than 3 weeks cause im currently using my friends 318is while he is away!
So it will be getting everything inc rear beam, disc conv and diff/M50/interior/brakes/steering etc fitted.

Heres a couple of pics of the 316i.Id be interested to see pics of other Vulcan Grey ones if anyone has any?

Ill post progress pics as and when i take them!

Argh! I can't believe you found all that rust damage after peeling back the headliner!

Good luck with the swap. The new car looks great, and it shouldn't take too too long to swap everything over.

Eko, did you weigh your current car with the swap?

I like the color of the new car a lot. 316/6!

Sorry for the setback, way to turn your lemons into lemonaid! The new 316 looks sweet.

It never ceases to amaze/irritate the cool cars you guys across the pond have available, hell many euro Fords are decent cars.

        grrrrrrrrr

              Sounds good to me!
How about adding something to my current sig along the lines of `going to the grave`?

Nice find, the car came with the azev type A's? I have never seen that color before.

Good luck with getting the swap completed in that time frame,
