    Got "NEW" Rims

Ok, I was outside washing the E30, (I haven't had the time to go on priming it), and mi neighbor gets another car for his wife, a Kia Rio, it has these too big rims and he is there complaining how tough the tires are and how stiff the car feels, so i said "sell them to me", he said ok, payed US$ 75 and got them on the car.

The wheels are 15" x 7 and I have about 5mm between the tire (195-60-15) and the strut.

    Here are some Pics.

They look good too wihtout the center caps, but...

BTW, anybody know which wheels are these ???
I have never seen them around in any car.

OK, I guess they look like shit ????

I'm sort of perceptive, in a way....:(

Anyway, I can get rid of them in the future, but all i had was bent steelies, so I just had to.

I Don't dislike them BTW, but I don't like them either, so unless i get a positive opinion I'll ditch them as soon as i can save the $ 1.800 that a set of BBS will cost me here (which BTW) is almost twice what i paid for the car.

Looks like a bad knock-off of a style that Kelleners Sport and maybe even Breyton used to offer back a few years ago .

            Heres the Kelleners Sport :

And here is the MAE "Mono" :

Several German companies offered wheels in that style for quite some time .
The MAE's were particularly popular .

They had those rims down at the local rent-to-own store.

My guess is that your neighbor bought the kia and then while he made the stop to make the weekly payment on his TV and dinette set, he saw the rims and figured they would look nice on the car. They probably gave him a deal that was too good to pass up- Just an additional $8 a week.

Keep them on your E30 though. They don't look that bad and if I had to choose between those and the steelies, I would put those on. Plus you made another good point- if your wheels are bent, you really want wheels on the car that are straight. I bought a set of baby moons for the chevy because I discovered that the PO bent 3 out of the 4 original steel rims when I was at the shop getting new tires. They were only $45 a piece which was cheaper than new steelies and the tire shop couldn't balance my new tires on the bent rims so I got em.

if you bumped that one inch taller and 2 wider you'd be straight.

Well, at least there is a diversity of opinions, but let me tel you this, I went to this place where they buy rims, guess what, out of my five steelies they accepted ONE the rest are "too off center to be safely fixed" (according to them), well, the car now doesn't wobble, and After I finish the paintjob I'll drop it and see what happens.

I think that for $ 75 theyre OK, couldn't ask for more, I wanted Baskets, but Could never get hold of 4 decent 4/100 baskets.

Anyway, Once painted and dropped I think it'll look half decent.

Thanks For the info on the wheels. ;)

BTW - The wheel looks exactly like this one, but all the edges are sharp, not rounded, and the surface of the wheel is machined, not cast.
