He just couldn't conceptualize the fact that the engineers have designed the car in such a way to where the tires and wheels and suspension were already configured the best way possible for that vehicle.Comment

i think the wheels are pretty money looking... a nice polishing, a pretty e30 with a straighter body and nice paint, and a sexy ass slammed drop, then it will be dope.Claus Luthe is my hero.

Here, look for yourself. http://www.work-wheels.co.jp/wheels/index/index.html
So those work wheels are indeed, what you would call, "the REAL THING".Comment

Hey guys, keep in mind this dude lives in fucking CHILE, not exactly the wheel whore capital of the western world.
Ivo316, what color are you planning for the car? Have you found springs? I think that car in white, with those wheels in satin black just might be kinda hot.
Maybe red and polish the wheels would work too...but a fuckload of work.
Glad to hear you found something straight.

The springs are available here (eibachs), but i can stick my fist with room to spare undr the front fender, so I got the 4X4 look, according to the eibach guy here 2" shorter is plenty, but it looks like i'll need 3", and those are not available.
Any idea on how to really calculate the drop ?
I'd hate to make a mistake, the springs cost about US$ 900 here, (not including the shocks).Comment

That has always been a secondary selling feature of "plus sizing" your wheels. You get better cornering for a larger wheel and better handling with a wider wheel, however, the tradeoffs are a rougher ride, poorer performance in inclimate weather, and a reduction in fuel economy. There is this kid in my neighborhood who brings his honda over any time he sees me outside working on the E30 and one day he was trying to get me to explain to him how his car rides so crappy when he installs the performance shocks and struts yet the car rides and handles so well with the stock suspension.
He just couldn't conceptualize the fact that the engineers have designed the car in such a way to where the tires and wheels and suspension were already configured the best way possible for that vehicle.
Now let me state how right you are...
1) My ride is rough.
2) The car seems to bounce all over the road (24psi)
3) It corners flatter but the front end kinda wanders on turns.
4) Now the E30 tends to ride on the surface of the water instead of cutting through it on rainy days.
5) Whenever I hit a pothole my teeth fall out of place.
Improvements:
1) Brakes great.
2) Above 50mph. the car feels like a go-cart (drives like a squirrel).Comment
