    Whoa, big truck drifting

Damn, how does that thing not tip? That cab must be really light.

      That is funny!

I bet the bottom is pretty heavy. All that suspension, they must be pretty heavy duty if they pull such huge trailers. Just imagine how much each one of those wheel/tires must weigh! But the top must be pretty light too! ;)

oooo ooooo we race them too ;) The 2 stroke diesels sound awesome. On the faster tracks, they are limited to 160, the entire circuit goes quiet when the limiter kicks in.

Here in the US, Caterpiller puts out an inline 6 cyl with 660hp and 3400 ft lbs of torque. Cummins has one very similar. I don't know what they use in Australia on their "road trains". It is probably even larger.

I have not seen the European truck racing on TV in a couple of years. It sure was fun to watch.

The cab is on a suspension of it's own separate from the chassis. Will it tip, yes, unless you hit the corner right and get the tires to slide (fronts and rears). Some of our standard truck tires weigh over 220lbs each. Include 4 tires, steel wheels, 50lbs of lug nuts, and a huge differential/axle assembly and it gets pretty heavy pretty quickly. Some of the smaller single axle 'day cabs' weigh as little as 8,000 lbs. The more standard road truck can weigh as much as 20,000 lbs depending on the setup (no trailer). Some of our road trucks with a trailer weigh in the neighborhood of 37,000-43,000 lbs empty weight (moving vans).
Don't forget the good things Hitler did.

that Caterpillar is an 4 valve/cil. engine ?
Can you convert 3400 ft/bs to Nm ??
I can tell you 660hp is in Euro norms very big ('cause euro things are just smaller)
In my company the biggest truck is an Mercedes Actros with an V8 and has 570hp

that is sick control that guy has of that big truck, love to see his fancy foot work and steering from the inside to see how he makes it look so smooth on the outside.
