Tender age of 20. Remember it so well. Was a feeling that was. Partly cause I drove 2 hours home on the freeway with no insurance, until finalizing the policy the following day.

Would you guys happen to have some pics with the car from back then. Would be great if you could scan & post. We can gaze at an E30 in true "newness" ;)

When I was the tender age of 16... I began my search for my first car (even though I was puttin around in a '89 Plymouth Horizon that was handed down to me). I came across a beautiful dark metallic blue '87 325 (didn't know if it was an "i" or "iS" at the time) for a mere $1600. My parents thought maintenance would be too much, so we passed on it. I ended up with a '86 Acura Integra RS, a car which I still love to death to this day. Styling was badass for it's time.
After a few cars, and learning from the mistake of buying new cars, I finally had the opportunity to revisit the idea of getting an E30. I met my fate at age 21, when I bought my first E30. A rough around the edges '89 325i sedan. Of course it was a manual, every car with the exception of the Plymouth has been a manual.
In late 2006, I snapped a couple rocker arms and parked her in front of my house since. I was searching the forums and classifieds for E30's for my friends who have also showed interest in these wonderful machines. I came across an ad for a white '89 325i coupe this time. I went to personally check it out for my friends and ended up buying the car for myself. It is a white, 2 door, 5 speed, late bodied E30. It doesn't get any better than that. So this is the car I currently drive, which was purchased at the age of 23.Claus Luthe is my hero.

You have had first hand experience with these cars right off the showroom floor. Tell me, did they "tick" brand new?Claus Luthe is my hero.
