Getting two e30's, have no tools - which to get?

Both my brother and I are getting e30's, and we don't really have a toolset. We're poor, but a good toolset is probably a prudent investment. All you e30 owners out there, what tools should I own? Is there a specific toolset I can/should order online that would cover most e30 projects? Short term projects include:

    Replacing driveshaft/guibo
    Valve Adjustment
    Timing belt/water pump
Taking all the panels off to paint them (doors, hood, bumpers, etc)

Thanks in advance for any and all recommendations!

The tool kit in the trunk will suffice to do any job to your E30.

    lol jk, not really.

i would probably pick up a set that craftsman offers with all the sockets and a few screwdrivers and wrenches. then just pick up tools as you need them.

Harbor Freight will save you tons of money on your general tools.

I do engine swaps on e30s using a 1/4 inch and 3/8 rachet, metric socket set(you really only need 8mm, 10mm 11mm, 13mm, 17mm, 19mm, sparkplug socket), gear wrenches in the same size, various screw drivers, torx and metric allen sockets, wire cutters/crimpers and a needle nose plyers...

e30s are a breeze to work on

if there's a costco in your area, go and pick up a set of ratcheting metric wrenches for like $20. I have no idea how i lived without these...

I wanna get those ratcheting wrenches... But like BeirBrennerE30 said, working on them is super easy and you rarely need anything he didn't mention to work on them.

it might be $25, but whatever - they're worth the money!
