    Bought another e30

Just got a call from an old buddy of mine

his heater core blew, so he decided to just dump the car, will be a parts car for mine as everything is pretty much the same

    Specs

    1986 BMW 325 5 Speed
    197,000 miles
    Blueish Color (forget which one)
    Vinyl Interior
    Cruise Control
    Digital Clock
    Stock Stereo

Stuff that has been done in the last 2000 miles

New Belts (Timing, etc) New Waterpump, New Clutch, New Tires, New Plugs, Wires, etc,

Also comes with 4 good snow tires.

The Bads, Blown Heater Core, dent in hood, dent on rear below trunk, dirty as hell,

Paid 450 for it, which is worth it to me, the tranny/etc will go into my car, and this car will become my summer beater for awhile while I get my cars suspension happy, and other things, as in the summer I don't really need a heater.

I will get pics when I can, hopefully gunna ge tit next week

So are you parting this blue car out?

If so i might give you some cash for the rolling chassis. :P

it's probably just a heater valve, not the core, $60 part

edit: if it's wet around the gas pedal and possibly the passenger floor, i'm 90% on the heater valve

he took it to a dealer, they said 1600 bucks, so that made him get rid of it

yeah i also think it's probably the heater core valve.

Try this trick: take about 2tbsp of ground cayenne pepper, and sticking in your cooling system. The particles are small enough to be able to get through the radiator/heater core/etc, but big enough to get stuck in/clog leaks.

                Well they said Heater Core

although it is BMW, so I would not doubt that it could be the valve.

Either way I got insurance quotes today, 195 a month for basic liability oh well I can deal with that, not gunna drive the car daily either way hehe.

State Farm, for my main e30 its 295.99 a month for full coverage

I live in a VERY bad county when it comes to car thefts and accidents, so everybody has to pay a premium.

Geico could do it for 180, not that much better, and I would perfer to keep everything on my current carrier

I pay $1,010 a year for full coverage on my M3 and liability on my 535iS... shop around. I was with state farm, but they wanted $3600 for me on 1 car, so I said no way and switched to 21st century.

Welcome to the Insurance Hi-jack thread.

My family (two old parents, me 19 (one speeding ticket), and my sis 17) Parents both drive new, safe cars with full coverage, and I'm in the 325is, and she's in an Acura Integra (both high in index rating). But together all four of us pay just short of $5000 a year! Both my sister and I cars are just liability......

I cannot wait until I'm 25 or married.
