I was thinking I would peruse a career as a auto sales finance manager as it would combine my two loves (money and cars) and of course pay quite well. However I think I may look at the mortgage business as it would involve more RE which is another interest of mine.

My younger brother is in the mortgage brokerage field......works for a well established company here in town. Due to the current interest rates he's been swamped with first-time home buyers as well as those looking to re-finance to take advantage of the lower rates. This present climate has him working his tail off.....and some long days too. But his attitude is "get it while the gettin' is good" cause this wave of activity is due to subside at some point. When things slow down he will have to come up with some creative marketing ideas to lure in more business. Right now, business just shows up.
He's also fortunate that the company he works for offers a base salary + commission.....so he's not completely dependent on getting every deal to close.

A friend of mine is 22, and is a loan officer. He completed a two-year program to get there. After doing so, it is kind of slow to start up (he's part of a firm, not exactly sure how it works), but it really becomes "who you know."
He just bought a CLK500 Coupe, brand new, off the lot. He is easily making 6 figures. My mountains are better than yours.
