    Euro headlight covers

When converting to euro hella headlights you have to ditch the plastic shields behind the headlights that attach to the radiator support. However I reason there must be euro plastic shields that go behind the euro lights since the euro lights came on the euro cars. Anyone have the part numbers for the euro shields or atleast a realoem link. I cant find them on real oem for the life of me. Thank you

The ones on '88 and '89 US e30s will work fine because they are meant for ellipsoids. You don't need any special ones for the Euros.

If you want the euro part item 16, part numbers 51711965241, 51711965252 (from the parts list for a '89, Euro 325i):

      http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts...48&hg=63&fg=05

The covering for the US ellipsoids is here (item 11, part numbers 51711965241, 51711965252):

      http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts...32&hg=63&fg=05

Same thing for my '86, US 325 with sealed beams, item 11, part numbers 51711965241, 51711965252:

      http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts...32&hg=63&fg=05

The two US versions look the same to me, but different from the Euro covers. All of them have the same part number...don't know how that will affect it if you try to order parts from the dealership.

My build date is 4/87 so I assume I have early ones. Perhaps the late ones are all compatible with the huge smiley housing?
