I think it looks absolutely sique. I like the hoodride style. Reminds me of Rat Rods of the 50s and shit.

There's a lot of effort in the Benz, but I'm with Dave that I like the copper & patina more than I like the airbrushing on this Benz. I like a lot of what the artist did on that Benz, but the rust effect is one of the "nope's" to me - I like the color, the metal plateing effect, the wheel size stencil on the pulled fenders, and the overall lack of shine.

But I like it the same way I like the BMW art cars, not a DD to me. I'm not one for overtly loud colors on a car, let alone "one of a kind" type paintjobs, not on a DD anyhow. I'm just trying to keep my isht from getting jacked, let alone call attention to it.

I love the stance on that thing though, and I love looking at euro-stretch tires. 18x13 rear wheels......must look sick from down low.

By that logic, Erik would have let the car patina itself over time, and not chemically rusted the process himself, controlling they pattern and look of the patina.

No, not really. Yes, Erik chemically accelerated that process. BUT, he did NOT paint the green over the copper to create the illusion of a patina. This guy airbrushed rust coloring onto the car to make it look rusted when it is not.
