    Best Pop-Up blocker

ok so my netscape runs all nice and all and Im willing to deal with the slightly slower speed of the browser, but my gf was using my computer and used internet explorer and now I get a million popups. My computer randomly slows itself way down now and Im just generally pissed. Im currently running windows 2000 for its stability and easy use of my schools network. Anyways I want to fix my stuff. Ive run norton antivirus as well as all the disk cleanup stuff and that seems to have fixed most of it but the popups. Whats the best free popup blocker out there? Anyone that require a code, I could probably get the hack somewhere online?

    I use PopNot.

It kills everything... and you can tell it to allow popups on certain sites (like the you have a new pm popup on this site)

a pop up blocker is a bandaid solution. if she was using IE and now you're getting pop ups, you've got a spyware/malware program lurking on your computer. you need a malware/spyware detector/remover, like ad alert (there are others). it's best to use more than one, as one isn't likely to catch everything the other doesn't, and there's several free ones available.

why are you asking computer questions on a car website? there are tech websites for that :P

Yeah, Google toolbar works pretty well for IE users.

I use IE with Pop-Up Stopper Companion, works great. Along with that i also use Ad-aware.

Netscape has a built in pop up blocker, and that works good for me.
