they started to make them in 1986. not that it makes mine worth anymore, just a cool fact for me, mine was the 303rd m3 sold. alot of parts on my car actually say 1985.

The optioning out of US M3's did not have anything to do with marketing. I am sure they could have sold stripped versions here, especially once the public discovered the true nature of the beast.The fact is, this was a low production car that cost $1 million to federalize. BMW added all the options to increase the profits, otherwise, they would have lost money selling it in the US.John
