    new member sayin hello

Hey, I'm new here just sayin hello

I've been browsing the r3v forums for a while. a few years ago I was considering doing an s50 into an e30 swap and this site was a great resource. I ended up buying an e30 m3 to become my track and autocross car. It was an expensive heap when I bought it, but now its decent looking and it feels great on the track.

I've been on bimmerforums for years and many local forums as well. come to think of it I was a member on dtmpower 6 or more years ago when i bought my first bmw.

I figure I might as well post some pics in this thread to make it worth while. I've been trying to register here for a while but I was never getting my confirmation email till now. I figured it was time to post since I'm organizing a group buy on custom 17x8, 17x8.5 and 15x8" semi forged, and very light wheels (16lbs for 17") with e30/e34/e28 friendly offsets (20mm+/-), and to get the deal moving further, I figured some of you e30 guys might be interested.

Thanks, I love it. I love e36's and used to have an m3 but there is something very different about it. although I've never driven any other car on the track to make a comparison, and my car is far from stock.

I'm just trying to keep the car in maintanance mode now except for switching to race pads and r compounds. Although I'm now concerned with oil starvation so a VAC oil pan, and accusump seem to be in the horizon and I was not looking forward to expenses that I don't really feel any benefit from (even though it may save my wallet in the long run).

Sadly im not in DSP. I'm in OSP where I'm getting my ass handed to me since that damn ac cobra is in my class (plus I'm the only one in that class on street tires)

it's a dumb thing in the rules. I have my rear seat belt buckles removed and because my cage is welded in, it counts as having a welded in rear strut tower bar.

if it wasn't for those two things I'd be in STX :(

Mr. Anderson. I don't have high res versions that photos, but I'll ask my friend Tristan if he still has them, since I'd like them too. I thought I posted some more pics up from that night, but it seems they are gone, so I'll post them again.

Absolutely not. I've seen that car in person, and i don't know how, but it looks better than the pictures portray it.

BTW- OP, are you planning on bringing that car to Santana row for the saturday meet-and-greets any time soon?

Welcome. Nice car and nice pics.

The e36 is a great car, but there's something about the e30 that makes it special. Maybe it's just the more solid feel, or the feedback the driver gets from the road via the car. I can't quite explain it, but I think most people here that have driven both e30's and e36's know what I mean.

Just a thought, as I don't want to hijack the thread anymore than I already have.
