Most of us are college or HS students... and for those of us that spend money on our own cars and mods, then we are poor. My ass is poor. And my ass is 40K in debt in college loans all under my own name, and i'm only a soph. Do my parents have money... yes. Do i see any of it, hardly. If your parents have money and they hook you up with whatever you want thats great.

It's called work study, or a job. Do it. You don't have to be "poor" in high school or college, if you're willing to bite the bullet and work, sometimes when you don't want to. Shit, I work a full time job during the summer and part time during school, and I've almost always got plenty of extra money around, with the exception of insurance payments every 6 mos.

You're not the only one that pays to go to school... why complain? Anyone who goes on to higher education has to "pay for it" somehow, some just are fortunate enough to receive grants or scholarships, and that all goes back to how far you're willing to commit yourself to your education.

And kids whose parents buy them everything should be slapped, and their parents too.

All i have to say is wow....... dude you dont even know me. I appreciate everyone else's comments, even the guy that can only say "whatever." But dude..... with your post i'm just speechless. Are you kidding me man? You dont know the school i go to. You dont know what i do at that school.. How can you get off telling anyone, that you dont know, to bite the bullet and work.

Where in any of my posts did you get the impression that would justify a remark like that? You dont even know how much my bill for one year of school is. Yeah buddy i know its called a job. How did you get the impression that i'm some sort of lazy ass that doesnt know what work is? I understand how the section you quoted may come off like i'm complaining. And even if i am, when it comes down to it, you have no idea who i am or what i do during the summer or while i'm at school. You know absolutely nothing about it to make comments like that.

Should i be getting upset and offended by someone i dont even know? No. But its just so messed up when someone says someonething like that to me based on assumptions quoted in 4 lines. This may be an issue simply on the defenition of the word "poor," and my use of it. My, may be different then other people's. And your assumptions may be supported by what you define as "poor."

Whatever the case is, i have just spent an (x) amount of time typing all this out when in the end it accomplishes nothing. I would like to say though....

That i am sorry to whoever felt offended by my "your poor" comment, it was not my intention by it to put anyone down on this forum.

And e30Matt, your advice is sound. Its just very offensive when it is grounded in the assumptions you have made about me.

A lot of people here may be poor. Not me, but I certainly was when I was in college. I dropped out because I couldn't afford to even eat, worked for a bunch of years to get my paper and recently went back and finished school.

Well, i'm nowhere near as bad as you must have been when you were in school. I'm sorry you had to go through that. I work a lot, i pay my bills during school, and at the end of the day just like e30Matt i have money to throw around. Not a lot but enough for a 20 year old. I think thats the case with a lot of college students. And my statement just now once again comes back to the definition of the word "poor." E30Matt just had a different one then i do. Thats why i got upset b/c he made a comment without even knowing any specifics about me.
