I'd worry more about the quality. Find out who makes em. The MHW smoked rears are sought after. The crystal business might be distracting, smoked looks good though imo.

I kinda want an all blacked out look for the tail lights............. I do like the MHWs, but I kinda want to stay away from the tri-colour look that they have?

BTW MHW only made the late model tails, so 88-91. Startec made the early ones 84-87, and they are a vastly different design from one another.

I think the crystal style is too modern for our cars. It only looks right on era-correct cars (e39, e46, etc.).

It is true. The smoked lights available for the early cars are made by Startec, and those for late cars are by MHW.

These are brighter than the MHW's there ace. So light output is better.

I beleive all those "crystal" style lights for e30's are made by Depo.

For that price I would rather get the star-tec's,not only are they better looking they are way better quality than that crap.You should contact "Ac Nico" as he often runs into star-tec's.
