A couple of things I was just thinking about re: variations of E34s. I know the big-6 M30 motor is a torque monster and utterly bulletproof, but its pretty heavy as well. An M50 with mild tweaking (chip, injectors, intake, exhaust) should bring it close to what a stock M30B35 makes but the lighter front end should make for more nimble handling. Also, with the vanos M50 cars ('93 to '95), an S50 upgrade should be a plug-n-play affair....at least in theory.

Yeah, that is one of the things I have been thinking of doing. Looks like engine, trans, driveshaft, diff and chip are all that is needed.

Wouldn't you just need the engine? All the other stuff is already there, right?

In theory, I could, but I have an auto trans and its shorter diff. I'd want a 5 speed and a better ratio diff, preferably LSD.
