Well It's summer, party-time, and time to keep drunks off...

    ...the road

That should do it :) Same breathalyzer used by Boise Police and Idaho State Troopers.

Luckily my friends are reasonable, so that if they don't pass, then they'll hand their keys over. None of this "rrrrwwwiiisssssokayyyy ieeemmm coooooool" business.

Anyone have experience with these things before? I'm kinda looking forward to seeing it in action :D

I had a one time experience with one a few years back. The guy holding it worked for the California Highway Patrol. Its a long story......I'd rather not get into it

A friend of mine had one a while back. They become saturated after a while because it uses the alcohol in your breath to reduce Chromium 6 to Chromium 3 (we did it in ochem lab last year). But they seem to work for a while (maybe 3 months) and for $10 that's a good deal.

i thought instead of "....the road" it was gonna be something like "....my lawn" and then have a picture of a shotgun or something.

Those things are great for parties. It gave us another way to compete back when I was 18. The little guys always won though, except the bigger guys would stay higher longer.

These use a different method, and only require minor calibration year-to-year (so after a year it ends up being +/- .02% BAC vs .01%). The cheapo $15 ones use the chromium decomposition.
