I'd just like to introduce myself... I've been on bf.c for a while, but just picked up an e30, and this site is much better suited for what I'm looking for. I just sold my 98 M Roadster and am looking forward to working on this project. The story on how I got my car is pretty funny; I'll make it short.
So I've been looking for an e30 in great condition, which as we all know is a chore. I looked for about 3 months and stumbled across one on craigslist locally. I went and looked at it about 1 hour after he posted it. It was the NICEST e30 I have ever seen. It looked brand new. 318, white, 4 door, 5 speed. He's asking $2600, which is already a great deal, but I offered him 2100 just for fun. He says he 'has to sell it', so he accepts my offer.
My bank was closed for the day so I offered him $500 cash to hold the car till the morning. He told me he would hold it for me either way. Great. So, sure enough, I come by the next morning with 2100 cash. The car isn't there when I pull up, and he told me he sold it to his neighbor the night before after I left.
I was so pissed off, I could barely talk. I left mad and went home. I do have my dealers license so I looked on the local auction website (which there are NEVER clean e30's on). Weird... there is a white 318, 4 door, 5 speed out there. I hop in my car and go look at it. It's in great condition. Almost as good as the other, just a few more rock chips. I went in and offered $1100, and they took it. I drove home in my new e30, for half the price as the one I looked at earlier.

S50 on the way. It will probably come out of that white m3 in the background. The junkyard close to my house is trading me my m42 for all the parts I need for the swap. This will happen fairly soon. Maybe suspension, but nothing major. It will be a sleeper for a while.
