You don't need to do anything. Drop the car back off at your bodyshop and ask them to repair that area. Easy to reclear one area and bill you for it.Tenured Automotive Service Professional - Avid BMW Enthusiast

I think you ought to take it back to the shop, tell them what happened and ask them to fix it. I am sure that any reputable body shop would appriciate knowing that that their clearcoat is still soft after a week. Also I wouold suggest that they wouldn't mind fixing it being that they know what to do about it and they wouldn't want their work to be misrepresented by your attempted repair.

i will
I am going to take it back to them for sure. I would never attempt to fix it myself. I was just curious what it would take to fix it. i am hoping it wont need to be taken down and new color coat and clear put on. Is it possible for them to just shoot clear over such a small area to repair it? Its on the top of the passenger side front fender and its about 5" by 4". Holy shit I am mad at myself for putting the blanket over, this has been a 2 year project and a lot of hard earned cash and i go and fuck up my paint.

Dont be so hard on yourself over it as the shop should have baked the finish on where this would not have been a problem at all... They either did bake it but no where near long enough or they didn't bake it at all. It should be a fairly easy fix for them and might not even have to be reshot either....
