how bad is it to drive with a broken rocker?

So i broke the #1 intake rocker on my BMW in may. how bad would it be to drive it to the other side of my appt complex to wash the thing, its getting a bit dirty.

dont worry about it man. bounce it off the rev limiter too. who cares if its dirty if you cant drive it? fix it and then drive it over to wash it

Have a friend help you push it there or take the money you used to by soap and get the engine fixed.

an intake valve wouldn't be a big deal, since nothing can get into the combustion chamber. an exhaust valve would be very bad, since fuel could still get in the cylinder, but nothing could get out...

Shouldn't this be consider common sense if it's broke do not operate?

Kinda like driving a car with no brake system?

did you guys even read his post?

he's not talking about driving it to work every day. he's talking about moving it less than a block so he can wash it. it's already broken, so that's not exactly going to hurt anything.

i wouldn't drive it... but i would think if you pulled off the #1 injector harness you could probably do it fine without washing the cylinder with fuel etc.

How could you wash the cylinder if the intake rocker is broke...

                            Fix it or cover it.

If your going to fix the engine then just push it over to the wash area. If you're going to replace the engine, then I like blunts advise. Redline it over there! :)
