Had the same arm rest on my wife's '88. This pic is before I fixed the bracket, so the angle is tilted down instead of up.

Interesting that this was also an Illinois car.

They were made by 'JJ Design' and sold through BavAuto.

I have a black one for sale made by an unknown company. It has a different mounting tab but the principal is the same. The tan one has been sold.
The black one was just redone in leather and has never been installed since. $140.00

Great information,a couple of questions occur to me ...the armrests I have seen before are fitted to the sports seats and have an actual piping to match the seats and if Bav auto made them how were they able to match each upholstery color and type leather or vinyl ?Possibly Bav auto was making a reproduction of an original version from the factory ...also the only cars I have seen fitted with these so far which are not many have originated from Illinois...I just noticed the instructions for fitment say 318 or 325 four door no sport seat models.

Very interesting. I have a black one with the square mounting bracket in my basement and always assumed it was a dealer option. It was installed in a 87 325is with sport seats that I bought in 1992 and used as my daily driver until 2013. The car was originally purchased from a dealer in southern NJ and lived here all of its life. I liked the armrest so much I removed it before selling the car in 2014 but sInce none of my current e30s have black interiors, I have not reinstalled it. If anyone is interested, shoot me a PM and I'll forward pics

Might be able to narrow the scope down my car was originally sold out of Bill Jacobs BMW ,Joilet,Illinois. My car came to California the next year after it was sold ,I also believe the armrest was installed at the time the car was first sold.?..Update,located another car ,a 5 series 87 model with Cardinal sport seats has the same armrest as the other 325's already mentioned and this car is also from Illinois.

Ha... 2 days of chasing parts. Took me over a year for that front strut brace... and that was only because Raul saved me!!

How did MK work? Alpina style or only mail order....?

As I've said before, people got no love for ACS parts in Denmark, so they're dirt cheap, and easy to find, all people want for their E30 in Denmark, is mtech 1 and 2.
Every body has mtech 2, so it's getting quite boring.
I was at Asphaltfieber (worlds biggest BMW meet) in Germany this summer, every (almost) E30 was Mtech 2 and V8 swapped.. Boring..
I did however spot an E34 with a full ACS set!! (Ultra rare, even more rare than the ACS E30 parts)

And my E30 touring was the only ACS E30 there, but I know I won't be the only one with a full ACS kit this year, there's a german guy building a Cirrusblau 4 door with a full ACS kit too.
It'll be fun to put my Cirrusblau 2 door with ACS next to his.

What do you mean with the MK?
All the MK parts were found on the German ebay, and they were extremely cheap too.
