Key signs
Designation of the product often carries information about its facilities. Similarly, the equipment in particular the CA control units.
Alpine
Prior to 1994, each year for the company was the only marked four digits. The first two were carrying information which is the product and the model is high, the next two are already the serial number of the model. For example, 7980M
For example:
79xx, 78xx - radio with CD player (9 to deck)
76xx, 75xx, 72xx, 71xx - radio with cassette player (6, 3 to deck)
5xxx - 1 DIN decks without radio (CD-59xx, cassette)
13xx - controller with built-in radio
3xxx - equalizers (33xx), digital signal processors, amplifiers (35xx)
4xxx - Accessories: remote controls, magazines, pockets
The name of the model was sometimes Suffix indicating additional accessories:
M - SDK
R - RDS
L - long wave
In 1994 we introduced an additional letters, so we have three letters, then 4 digits, plus one or two letters at the end. For example, CDA-7939R
Interestingly numerals correspond to a large part of the previous scheme.
The first two letters indicate the type of device that is:
CV - radio controller and system monitor
IV - controller with radio, monitor the system and an additional source of removable (CD, MD)
CD - CD
3D - DVD 3 CD Changer
TD - cassette
MD - MD odtwaracz
CH - CD changer
CT - controller with built-in radio
CR - changer control
The third letter carries information from the bus that the device works:
A - Ai-Net
M - M-Bus
E - no I / O bus
Subsequently two letters are also characterized by a hierarchy of models. As I said in line with the previous marks so present here only those which have reached new:
77xx - MD player
15xx - controller with built-in radio (here you can see the consequence of the previous designation)
5xxx - 1DIN source without a radio and amplifier, such as a CD or MD changer, MP3 HDD reader but also for example with the sound processor or correction
98xx - CD player (ran in 2003 of the new models)
95xx - cassette (ran out in 2003 of the new models)
After four digits we have one letter characterized equipment:
R - RDS
T - SDK
M - long wave (without SDK)
E - tuner to the eastern market (FM bottom) or the U.S. market (depletion of RDS)
W - (do not know what it is because there is no RDS, but no LW)
If we are dealing with a model of front-panel wood-color is even one letter G. If it is a classic black no additional markings.
Blaupunkt
Here you can always read a lot of equipment. Name is the name of the city, a few letters (1 to 3) and a couple of numbers, it is rare to find a letter on the end of the test.
models before 1989
indication of the type: SQR88
S - Digital Synthesis
I - PCI system
Q - LCD (liquid)
R - Auto Reverse
M - no-reverse, and no cartridge is a mechanical timer
CD - CD
CCP - without a radio cassette player
DTP - DAT cassette
CDP - CD player no tuner
The first digit represents the total power of 80W = 4 * 20W. I have 2 just 2 speakers, 1 - mono. How is the 108 is a 4 * 25W, and is 0 to deck eg 08
the last digit of the year of the introduction of the model to produce 8 - or 1988
Models 1989-1999
indication of the type RCM303A
R - RDS (not the first letter indicates no RDS)
C - cassette
D - CD (then and MD)
M - Control CD (DMS)
R - auto-reversible
C - no-reverse
CD - CD player (only the first models)
numbers as before
At the end of the letter is occasionally encountered:
And - as the radio is ADA system - that is, the four antenna diversity
W - the front is colored wood
models after 2000
indication of the type C30
As with most things (RDS DMS) has become the standard so there was this meant.
C - Cassette
CD - CD
MD - MD player
MP - MP3
DJ - set CD Changer
then the two digits for the
The first digit indicates how high is the model:
3 - Basic Series
5 - series average
7 - Series highest
The last digit is the year of the introduction of the model in production.
aftermarket
So the name of some models which are made in low-cost series or just the kits. Here are some other signs.
indication of the type ACD9430
A-aftermarket (instead of the name of the city)
CD - CD
C - cassette
M - changer control
9
43 - it's like for most blaupunktów: power / year to introduce the model
0 or 1 depending on the market (0 of ARI and no pockets, one without ARI but with pocket)
Kenwood
Systematic very simple - three letters indicating the type of source and four digits (CD) or 3 (Cassette) digits of the model. In the series on hypermarkets one digit less.
KDC - CD player
KRC - cassette
KMD - cd MD
then sometimes one or two letters:
PS - top model
MP - MP3 player - later only M
V - continuously variable color backlight
B - blue display white numbers
Then the numbers, the first tells us how high it is a model (1 to 9), followed by membership in a particular series.
Finally, we have the letters:
R - RDS (after 2003 there is no indication whether RDS)
D - SDK
E - wide band FM
L - long wave
the next letter:
Y - EE version (there will be 4 digits of the case)
V - The colors of VW
A - amber backlight
G - green backlight
W - Forward-colored wood
C - front carbon fiber finish
F - Front Grey
Pioneer
Here we have a very simple but consistent labeling system for years.
The first letter is from which source we have:
K - Cassette
D - CD
M - MD player
G - Driver
The next letter shows us what we tuner
P - no tuner (same cassette) or manually tuned tuner
E - frequency synthesized tuner
The next letter shows us how the amplifier is installed in the receiver:
H - high power - that is, working in the bridge amplifier
X - deck - without amplifiers
no letter - a low-power amplifier (one speaker output power to weight)
Then we have a letter after the dash indicating the bus that supports your device:
P - P-Bus and IP-Bus
M - M-Bus
no letter - no I / O bus
Then there are 3 (CD) or 4 (Cassette) digits, the first decide how high it is a model, another is a sign of the ordinal number of the series production year. If we have only two digits (cassette) it means that we are dealing with a model of a set of radio + CD player.
Sony
There is also a simple system of signs. The letters at the beginning, then 3 or 4 digits, and finally an additional point or two.
XT - just a radio with CD changer control
XR - radio with cassette player
CDX - radio with CD player
MDX - radio with MD
In front of a letter we have the letter U (before 1995) or C (after 1995) which describes the ability to control the changer.
The first digit of the digital symbol indicates how high it is a model, another carries information from which is derived the model series. Prior to 1995 (some models much longer), the last digit gave additional information about the equipment:
0 - no SDK
2 - Decoder SDK
3 - Double Head FM (then green backlight keyboard)
Finally, we have the letter:
R - radio has RDS decoder
EE - Dual FM Tuner
And possibly even one letter V if the radio has a display and backlit keyboard in the style of VW.Last edited by george graves; 06-08-2013, 09:32 PM.Originally posted by Matt-Bhey does anyone know anyone who gets upset and makes electronics?

well, for a fact, the bmw emblems on these came from the center of two steering wheels. they kind of look ridiculous glued to the front of those fogs. most certainly stuck there by some previous owner.
i have never seen those lights on any bmw. i assume they are some aftermarket light or oem from another manufacturer.sigpic
