I had an idea the other day regarding traction on an e30. Many times i've been stuck with an e30 that didn't have lsd/vc rear diff because one wheel lost traction.
That got me thinking of a low budget traction control device.
In case of emergency (ie: stuck in gravel, snow, steep bank):
Why not use the parking brake to lock the wheel without grip? All it takes is one deep 10mm socket and ratchet to loosen the parking brake for the wheel with traction. Set the brake and in theory the wheel without traction will be stopped by the brake allowing the other wheel, with traction, to pull the car out. Only problem i could see with this scenario is that the p. brake will not have enough grip.
Once out of the situation, just torque down the nut you loosened and you are good to go..
I'll try this out next time i'm le stuck.
Any input?
Julien
