    i love my 318.

I decided to take the 3litre for a spin today after classes to relieve some stress. I first went to some backroads and cruised around for about 15 minutes, keeping it under 4500 until the oil got up to temp. I have no problem waiting for the oil to warm up, because it still makes plenty of power down low. After 15 minutes, i start taking it about 5500 and things are going great.

Tight backroads with "10-15mph" hairpins on smooth pavement. The only problem is there is very little run-off up here, so if you overcook one....you're...well....screwed.

Shifting at 5500 in 2nd and 3rd was still a tease. I waited another 10 minutes and then "vrrrrrrbbbbwwwwappp!" turning it 6800 where it's really pulling hard.

I ended up getting lost about 15 miles from school, which was fine by me. I love getting lost and exploring new roads. :)

I will try to get some videos of my car sometime.

Oh man, I definitely gotta agree with the getting lost thing. It's fun to try and find a main road and hope it leads you somewhere.

Waiting for oil temp to get up on the other hand...

oil temp doesn't even take 15 minutes to warm up, especially if you're only keeping it under 4500. I usually keep it under 3k until my oil temp is 10? lower then norm op temp and that only takes 5-10 mins if RPMs vary.. if constant (cruising) it can take up to 15 mins to get withing a couple degrees of normal op

          I want a 3 0

You put oil in your car??? Oil is way over-rated.

Hmmmm...I try and keep my car below 4,000 for the first 5 minutes. After that I unleash holy hell. 7,100 every time!

Wait for your oil to get to temp? I drained all my oil, weight reduction, since liquids weigh alot. Same thing with gas, antifreeze... anything liquid is gone. I go crazy fast now.

                  Interesting

Maybe you should ditch that +100lbs engine you got there.... I mean weight savings would be HUUUUUUUUUGE! :P
