    m42 or M20?

Ok guys, I've been lookin for a while for a bmw and I see some 318's in good condition and 325's. I was thinkin bout doin a turbo setup, but didn't know which you'd rather for a turbo setup. Which would you rather now?(Sorry don't know how to do polls) the 318 or the 325 and why?

Im leanin more towards the 325 due to power but then again the 4 cyl I use to have was no slouch. Let me know!

the 325i is better suited to a turbo, but there's nothing wrong with a clean stock M42. it just depends on what you want to do with the car.

Most guys seem to turbo the m20. Low compression and lots of forum/MegaSquirt support. M10's can certainly be boosted (see Good and Tight), and m42's are all forged but run too high of a compression to boost much in stock form. I am trying to be nice, because the urge to tell you to go search is strong. See the turbo forum on e30tech.com for good info. There is lots of reading you can do to help you decide what's important. That being said, I doubt you are ready to tackle a turbo project if you have to ask. I've been reding about it for 2 years, and still need to learn more before I would feel comfortable turboing my car. Or yours. Good luck.
