    Folsom Lake Nissan

    Saw this on another forum...

I know this isn't a Nissan site, but I'm trying to pass this word arouns as much as possible, cause these fvckers done gone pissed me off!

Today my girlfriend and her mother dropped her mother's car (350z convertable) off at Folsom Lake Nissan at 9:00am to get the radio in the car fixed. Then at 4:00pm when they had still not heard from Folsom Lake Nissan, they drove over to the dealership to see if the car was finished. When they got to the dealership they went and talked to the service manager. They told him that they were in the area, and wanted to check on the status of the car. The service manager walked into the bay, and returned a short time later. He said, "I'm not sure where your car is." They asked the service manager if the new radio was in the car. The service manager said no, and told them that the new radio was still sitting on the counter. Just then, two of Folsom Lake Nissan's mechanics came driving in... In my girlfriend's mother's car! The service manager went directly to the car to find out where they had been. When he came back he told my girlfriend and her mother that the mechanics had taken the car for a "test drive" to make sure that the radio's automatic volume adjustment was working. The only problem with that is that 1: The radio wasn't working. and 2: Her 350z did not come with that option.

Needless to say, my girlfriend's mother was upset. She walked over to the two mechanics and demanded to know why they were driving the car. As soon as she asked them, the mechanic that had been driving the car threw up his hands and said, "I'm not doing this job!" He started tearing all of the paper that the dealerships put in your car, out of the car. He yanked the keys out of the ignition, held them out in his hand and said, "Here, you can leave." My girlfriends mother continued to question the mechanic as to why he had been driving the car. He began to speak over her, and not allow her to ask questions. My girlfriend eventually got feed up with how the mechanic was treating her mother. She lost a little bit of self control, and called him a fvcking a$$hole. The mechanic said, "I don't deal with people that cuss at me." He turned around, and walked away.

My girlfriend and her mother went to the General Manager's office. The mechanic that had been driving the car was already in the office. They were all telling the general manager what had happened, and the mechanic again said that he doesn't work for people that cuss at him. My girlfriend openly appoligized to the mechanic, and said that she had lost her cool. The general manager went to go see why the mechanics had taken the car. When he returned he had a totally different story. The general manager said that the mechanics took the car for a test drive because they heard a "clicking" comming from the window. When my girlfriend and her mother asked which window was clicking, no body could give them an answer.

The mechanic left, and it was just my girlfriend and her mother talking to the general manager. The general manager told them that he was going to have his best tech install the new radio, and said that he was going to most likely fire the two mechanics that had been joyriding in her car. My girlfriend and her mother waited in the general manager's office for the car to get finished. When the car was ready the general manager simply said, "Okay, you can go."
My girlfriend's mother asked about her paperwork, and whether or not they were going to replace the gas that the mechanics had used while they were out joyriding. The general manager rolled his eyes, and muttered something under his breath. He pulled out a $5.00 bill and tried to hand it to her. She told him no, she didn't want his money.

The general manager told her that he was very offended that she would not take his money. He then said that instead of the mechanics getting fired they would most likely just get written up because he had already had to fire 5 other employees for similar behavior this month!!! He told them that he was going to have meeting with his employees, and would call them back later in the evening. He said, "I'm on your side."

Well, no suprise, he did call back this evening. Except he ws now singing a new tune. It was now my girlfriend and her mother's fault for everything that happened because my girlfriend used profanity when speaking to the mechanic.

So I just wanted to get the word out that FOLSOM LAKE NISSAN is running a shady a$$ opperation! We're going to report them to the BBB, the BAR, and probably the local news stations. But I'm also asking that if you live in the greater Sacramento area, and you've read this, pass on the word. Thanks,
    Brandon

Wow....I live in that neck of the woods but I have never had any experience with Folsom Lake Nissan. What transpired sounds downright fucked up on the dealers' part. I don't know what it is with dealerships out in the Folsom area. People's Chrysler/Jeep was in the news earlier this year for falsifying info on sales contracts and charging customers extra for shit they never got. That one was on the local news a few times.

It's good to post when you get treated badly by a dealership. I'm all for making a "hit list" of dealerships that repeatedly dick people around.

If this place has fired 5 people, their problem goes higher than just the employees/mechanics - I'd get ahold of some sort of higher level Nissan & make sure they are aware the dealership service center is being incompetently run. If you make a real headache for corperate Nissan, maybe they'll slap the owner of the dealership a couple times.

I know when I worked a Honda lot that the owner was in excellent standing with corperate, so he always got the desireable Hondas & never just got stuck with a bunch of yellow cars or slow movers. How each dealership is seen by corperate matters. Other dealers were always trying to buy cars he had, like SE Accords or 4WS Preludes - or even just the popular Accords.

      Attaboy for making some noise.

It's not how you handle the good times, but the faith you keep in the bad that defines you.
