maybe you bulbs that arnt the right wattage or somthing so your not giving them enough juice. idk, i suck at electrical stuff.
I figured it out, I had to splice the wires at the source, I wasn't wiring them correctly and pulling the electricity after it went through the first bulb, which explains why it was dimming. I suck at electricity too.
Thanks
One of the first things i complained about with the car. The original light sucked ass.
I sunk a few LED down lights into the roof of the boot, activated wen the boot opens, with all the wiring hidden.
The globes looked great installed and work perfectly,
however come night time and they turn into spotlights... :(
i need some kind of lense to go over them to help spread the light a bit.
All in all I wouldn't recommend doing this.
1st off, WAY to much effort, (we're talking remove rear seat, parcel shelf, rear speakers, lying upside down in the boot drilling through the shelf etc etc...)
And 2ndly, i dislike the light distribution, though it does light the whole boot, they tend to focus on one point fairly strongly.
effective not attractive ...particularly.
Ill probably ad the 2nd boot light as well anyway.
Try scuffing the LED's up with sandpaper. This should break up the light a bit and not make them such a "spot".
I just did the Dual trunk light to my car but the intensity of the bulb is much lower. Seems like it is not getting enough power.
How do you fix that? Or maybe I didn't hook them up correctly
Any advice?
I hooked the new light into the trunk switch and constant power. Get new connectors and run the new wire into the positive coming from the trunk and the ground (the switch). Use insulated connectors too... Get new bulbs also.

Beat me to it Andrew - that's what I did to my Alpine alarm LED in the truck, since it was a gay piercing blue. It lit up my whole cabin when my windows have dew on them, and Landcruisers are the size of a school bus.
Scuffing killed this, and painting over the top half of the LED did the rest.
It's not how you handle the good times, but the faith you keep in the bad that defines you.
Someone please draw me a wiring diagram of the original trunk light, switch and the addition of the new trunk light? I just popped one out a junkyard and would like to do this right. Thanks.
Your signature picture has been removed since it contained the Photobucket "upgrade your account" image.
Dude it isn't hard..... Just splice into the original.
Or do it like huff said.
make sure the wires to the new one are insulated and they are about a foot long each.
I just did this too, just worried that the wires going to the second light go over the bulb over the first. There a couple inches away but I couldnt figure out a good way to hold them there. A little worried that it'll melt the wires.
Works like a champ though, 5 minutes, two splice connectors, and 18" of wire. Done.
Thanks Delatlanta1281, I got mine and it took 10 mins. Great little mod. Heres the part #: if anyone wants it. I got it for $5 from BMA. Part #: 63 31 1 378 089.
