No, I bought it with the intention of the S52 swap from the get go. I just spent 3 months, and aprox $400.00 in m10 parts first so I could see the change. I actually told my co-workers the $400.00 was worth seeing the difference.
"Damn it, I dont care that an Idle Control Unit is $136.36 (13 41 1 707 224) from WorldPac, I just want to see how slow this thing really is before I tear it into tiny little peices."
I bought it after reading the 24v sub-forum. It was a clunker in the back lot of my shop. Started searching for what I could do, and I found all of you. I began the project ONLY to stomp all over the S2K my co-worker owns. I told him I WILL stomp your 30K, 9K rpm 4 cyl civic on steroids with something from the leinsale lot in the back. Now im a BMW junkie.
It has been an s52 project from the begining.
I'm hoping someone in socal with a swap will take me for a ride so I know what I'm in for, as of now I have been living vicariously thru all of you.

Holy crap you're going to nut your pants when you get done. What guided you to buy an E30 with under 42 miles of seat time, drive it 8 miles home, and put it on stands for an S52? I've always felt this car would be one of the funnest things around with an S52 in it. I plan on swapping in a few years after I get more use out of this engine and have another DD besides the bike.
so you pretty much drove an e30 once then decided to do a s50 swap?
