What/When did you pay for your E30?

Just curious as to how much money you originally spent to buy your E30 and at what point in time. I'm seeing so many references to people buying E30's for $500 and am just amazed. I had no idea you could get a running one for that little! Wanted to see the differences around the board.

    I'll start:

Bought mine in November of 2005 for $4,700. It was a '91 318i 4dr with 86,xxx on the clock from the original owner, absolutely mint condition. I thought it was a steal.

Spent about $1,800 on it so far, with another $1,600 of parts in the mail, and another $2,300 going towards it in the next month. This thing better be running/looking like a p-i-m-p by the end of it all :)

Bought mine a little over 3 years back. It was an 89 325is with almost exactly 137K on the clock. I paid $4250.

i was clueless and defiantly got ripped off, 5k for a 88 325is with 70xxx on the clock in good condition with light suspension work. ive spent another 5k on it in maintenance and paintwork (incident with a tree 3k in paint and body)

I kinda wish i would have done more research before buying.

I traded a 1 1/2 year old S10 ext. cab with 18" Boyds wheels and hydraulics. truck had less than 10,000 miles on it. My M3 didnt even run when I got it.
I am the one who is laughing now.

my white car I paid 400 euros last year for. was an alright deal I guess

$800. Last month. It's an '86 eta with 186,xxx, runs well, maintenance was done at the best shop around, has horribly oxidized paint but is otherwise clean. I love it and it gets 27mpg.

I got my 4-door eta for $1100 with about 160k. It had nasty passenger side body damage, but ran good. That's a lot of money for the condition it was in..

I got my '87 iS for $350. It was a non-runner. And it still is..

I've got an eS on the way. No details until I complete the deal though.

Paid $2,300 for my 1990 325IC with 106,000 miles on it in June 2007.
Have spent about $3,500 on it (New top, wheels, brakes, seats, lowered, and many other mods)
I think it wasn't a bad deal especially for the mileage.

                        June 13th, 2003: $2,750

Probably put double that into it in repairs and mods.

                        And Ben thats hilarious.

September 2003 payed $1000 for an '88 325iS with 165K on the clock and needing lots of work. Probably put $10K in to it over the last 4 years, and it still looks like crap. Oh well, I guess you always learn the hard way with your first car :)

August 2007 payed $1855 for a '92 m-tech 2 325iC. Total project car, the interior was molded out due to the top being left down by the PO in Alaska for like 12 months...ouch. Put about $2K in it so far for new leather all around, m52 w/OBD1 pieces. Still a work-in-progress.

I paid $4000 for my 89' 325i this past june of a freind. All major maintence items taken care of, (timing belt, cooling system, etc.) about 175-200K on the motor. Susupension work, wheels, etc. At the time I really just wanted something that was in good working condition as a daily driver that would give me as few headaches as possible. Plus (at the time) it had working A/C, major selling point when it was 115 degrees outside.

Bought the 87 325is a little over 2 years ago for $4k stock, but with an M50 in it from a member with I think about ~230k miles on the chassis. Stuff has changed, other stuff has not, and sooner rather than later more stuff will change.
