I have spent about -400 on my ETA. I bought it for 400 and sold all the cool stuff off of it for around 800 or so. and I am still driving it everyday for the winter.

the M3 I have not even tried to think about what could be invested into it- but off hand I am sure well over 25k

car was free but i paid bmw to service it years ago. around 4k for a few years.
will be at 3.5k for this exterior finish
          <2k for suspension
          <900 for tranny swap
          ~1.5k for sets of rims
random other stuff could total 2k, thinking about it, more and more add up.
I'd say ive had to THINK about handing over around 10k so far and that doesnt do much for the car. Engine is next.

I just got mine in August. I've put 2500 to 3000. It doesn't really show from the outside but it sure runs good!
New control arms, bushings, tie rods, kenwood cd player, cap, rotor, wires, plugs, rear brakes, MAF, FPR, paint for all bumpers, wheels and grills, new emblems, transfer pump, fuel filter and more!

                OK, so 2 E30s:

Mine: Bought the pile for $1K. Wheels, tires, springs, shocks, timing belt, misc. maintainance (or however the fuck you spell that) items, pile of stereo and alarm shit, freshly reupholstered seats, 2X used broken windshields...basically, about $2500, total, including the price of the car.

Kims car: Bought the pile for $500, $400 in wheels, $300 on tires, $200 in engine parts and new CABs, alarm, and used stereo crap...basically $1500 total.

I've spent around $2500 in maintenance parts. I don't anticipate that figure growing any time soon, but a rebuild and repaint may be in the years to come.

Alot of money being spent on their E30's, but you have to pay to play!!! So far with mods, basic maintenance, paint, ICE, wheels, interior, engine, suspension, etc....Im well over 17K... and another 5K being added shortly as I upgrade some items I didn't like..

My wife keeps telling me I spent over $10,000 but according to my file, its only been around $5000. Top end rebuild, radiator, new(used) cloth top, exhaust, wheels, tires, suspension and some minor interior stuff.

Its all been worth it. I love it more than I did my E46.

Not sure right now, but including getting my head rebuilt just after I bought it and snapped the belt (of course the weekend right before i was going to buy a new belt, tensioner and pump)...plus stereo stuff and all new suspension parts, somewhere far over 4k. I haven't done much, really.

i have put 0 dollars into parts for my car over the last 3 years that ive owned it. i spent 80 bucks on 4 17" TSW imola rims and im into my swap about 400 bucks, so im totalling around 480 give or take a couple bucks. :D

I voted without reading the question. I didn't include repairs, so that bumps me up from the 2-4k range to the 4-6.5k
