Euro Motor Mount? WTF?

I just got back from the parts place. Picked up a pair of new motor mounts for my roommate's 325is.

I guess they only had one of the U.S. version (11811132323) so they gave me a Euro version. Part number on it is 11811132321. The only difference I can see is that one of the studs on one side of the Euro mount is longer than on the corresponding side of the U.S. mount.

Are there any other differences I should be aware of?

No one knows if the Euro mount is gonna work? I'm hoping yes.

As long as the studs are in the same place, then you should be fine. Maybe just use some washers to take up some slack on the stud if there is a spot without any threads.

if this is true, about there being different mounts, i could only assume that its related to emissions standards being different, and thus only logical to balance the engine in a different way based on the intake and exhaust.... maybe?

When I bought my motor mounts from Korman the parts guy told me they were euro and therefore stiffer than the US mounts. I didnt really believe him but they were the same price as the US ones so I bought em. I forgot about it until now.

I think it's a difference in metal grade used between the two.

It is because of the euro models having the motor mount brackets out of alluminum. they are thicker than the steel, so the thread on the top side need to be longer. I feel like a real tech nerd for knowing that.
