S14 swaps and M20 swaps if done properly dont necessarily drop the value too much if at all, it depends on what the buyer is looking for really. If they want a car like that, but want to buy it pennies on the dollar, it'll sell well. Granted if it was entirely restored but had some ford motor or something in it, then yeah, it probably wouldn't have quite as much appeal.

i have seen an s62 2002... now that thing must fly and is pretty radical i must say.

dont put an american v8 in a 2002 cuz they suck... however not as much as the SHO engine. The engineers that designed the SHO should have their college degree revoked.

A buddy of mine is into Triumphs... The Rover V-8 is the same as many Buick V-8's... it can stroke out to 5.0L easily, can be had from a 4.0 Rover for $150 from a yard and the block alone weighs about the same as a built M10 head (head with cam & valves but no manifolds) He's been measuring for months trying to sway my e21 2.9L m20 project over to a nice 350hp 4.5-5.0L Rover V8. DO IT...

iflytii - PORSCHE 944... OR if you really have balls you could take an Audi FWD transaxal (motors were front to back not side to side in the old Coupe GT's). The 944 transaxal uses a driveshaft between the motor and gearbox and uses the same half shafts as the 2002. You would replace the rear diff of the 2002 with the Porsche gearbox - which comes in a LSD and if you were really sexy about it you could get a 968 6-spd.

On the FAQ look in the parts section for "Brandon" in Western, MA... he sells stuff on Ebay all the time. He's got a few Porsche 5 & 6spd LSD gearboxes. I was going to do something similar but then fell in love with my 71 Nevada '02 and have focused my hacking on a more appropriate car - an e21. Brandon knows his stuff, has a few track only cars and will treat you right on price. That's an easy way to SHOVE a motor like a Nissan SR20 motor WAY back into the tunnel and put the gearbox between the shock towers.

Just a thought...

Garrett - whatever you do go fuel injected, go BIG and make sure it's aluminum. If you go that big make sure you beef everything up enough that you won't tear the car apart the first time you do a hard launch... those 30 year old floors aren't that strong anymore!

Why don't you rebuild and tune the M10 ?

You can get 400+ out of an M10 and it would be original, but if you keep it mild and go for 200 hp you'll be able to use it as an everyday driver.

Anyway it's your car, and a 302 doesn't sound such a bad idea.

Remeber MG's now carry Ford v8's, so they can't be that bad. ;)
