OMG that's so badass dude. I'l be sitting here waiting to hear what you're doing.Originally posted by TOASTthe iXperience is very real, & thats all i have to say about that.
(if i elaborated it would get all steamy raunchy X rated in here)
some of you will rememeber how my iXer met its match (a year ago next week)... i am still in partial denial that my iX will be back in business. however the heap of dust and metal i spied a couple weeks ago had me pretty fuckin stoked. i guess this is the official drumroll kickoff. Figured this was as good of a place as any.
Drumroll!Leave a comment:

the look on peoples faces as your passing them with at least 3 wheels spinning, but you know most the time its 4, a rare occasion of 3, is just so awesome.
EDIT: also the rear wheels walking while you get a lil bit of torque steer with the front tires spinning is an amazing feeling
what have you done to your m20 that this happens in an ix?Leave a comment:

I picked an ix because, its my fancy dd and i can drive it whenever. except 1ft + of snow. but that rarely happens here in KY. But ill prolly still try. and in the rain i like to just take of instead of spinning. esp up inclines. awd drifts are also fun and interesting. I have a rwd e30 also for my eventually track/ street car. the look on peoples faces as your passing them with at least 3 wheels spinning, but you know most the time its 4, a rare occasion of 3, is just so awesome.

i'd rather have something bigger like my Jeep for AWD and 4x4 use.Leave a comment:

I originally wanted an ix, and after looking high and low abandoned the search. Most are rust buckets (for obvious reasons) and the transfer case and viscous coupling seem to be parts that need very attentive care. Around the age that these cars are, almost all of them need to be replaced (unless properly maintained, of course). As to all the parting out, I'm just assuming the cost of TC/VC and rust a lot of times is greater than the cost of the vehicle.Leave a comment:

I wouldnt mind one for the winter. I havent been home for the past two winters (i've had my cars for two years) so i've never had rwd in the snow/slush/ice/hail/freezing rain/snow men and i'm kinda scaredLeave a comment:

I have family in Maine and no one in Northern new england wants a rear wheel drive car when it snows. Easy to get stuck on steep driveways which they have a lot of. Everyone drives subarus and saabs out there. I always wanted to get an ix coupe and through a m3 fender kit and make a rally car. Would not be the best rally car but at leat it would be a BMW.Leave a comment:

the general E30 community doesn't care - and I don't really either. I have mine, and the other 99% are pretty much junk by now, except the few that have actually been taken care of. a lot of them have been wrecked recently (or driven into the ground).
definitely not a car for the average guy who can't locate the oil pan drain bolt (and yes, I've been asked that one - many times).Leave a comment:

Wierd being they said this on the IX registry.
"Until '90 or '91, the only colors availble were red, black, white and silver. Later, a few other colors were offered, including a beautiful dark metalic blue/purple."Leave a comment:

I think the ix is sort of silly and I'd definitely NEVER consider an AWD Bimmer, unless my wife wanted one. You can do just fine in the snow with a RWD car, I've done it since I started driving and never had issues, and this is in Colorado.
RWD or bust.Leave a comment:
