    Toughest job in an e30?

I've done a lot in my 5 years with e30s... and quite a bunch of things were a pain in the ass.... but what do YOU consider the hardest job for yours?

Today I did the subframe bushings with T/A bushings. What a f*cking nightmare! o.O Definetly ranks at the top of my "not looking forward to-do" list.

toughest job is replacing the windshield wiper motor without removing the fan and heater core.

F@ck starters. Completely straight-foward, but annoyingly tedious.

Agreed I say subframe/TA bushings and rear hard lines.

And that is sadly on my to-do list. Great inspiration.

Wow ZiMMie! Nice looking car. Wanna pm me some pics? The hardest job I have dome so far was change the diff without a jack or jackstands, but I am sure there are harder jobs.

                    +1

Although I'm not really looking forward to doing the rear subframe on my car this winter.

So far I have not had any really hard jobs, except when I changed my front and rear rotors and the set screws were a little rusty, but next, I am thinking about taking on the clutch myself - is that a tough one or should I have a shop do it for me?

I just hate spending money when I already have tools - lol

P.S. I am still kind of a noob with the E30, but I have been working on cars for over 20 years!

Ditto (hence why I haven't done mine yet on the current ride, I just wired in a switch to make it work as it randomly sticks on)

I think one of the shittiest jobs I've had to do on an E30 yet was changing out the heater core valve in my wife's 89 325i. You have to be a complete contortionist to get in there, and getting tools onto the hardware and fasteners that hold it all together is a fucking nightmare, not to mention trying to get the 2 pipes back through that rubber butthole in the firewall without actually pulling the grommet itself out, because it's impossible to get back in. On top of that, if you're replacing it, it's probably because it blew, which means you're laying in coolant on the floor.

Other than that, as long as you've got the right tools and a few friends to help, I haven't run into anything that was so horrible I wouldn't do it again.
