ix flare fitment question

i was trial fitting (holding them up to the body) my ix flares and skirts on my 91 25i and it looks like the door impact strips are longer on my 325i/ are they different for the ix? when putting them on a non-ix do i just trim them so the flare will fit under them? anybody else run into this?
i did several searches and found nothing on it.

i think i figured it out. were all IX's 4 doors? that would account for the lack of a gap since there is one in the 4 doors and they don't butt up against the rear flare. what did you do if you put ix flares on your non ix 2 door car?.....anyone.......?

Im pretty sure there were IXs in coupes, not just 4 doors.

There were 2 and 4 door IX's
