    Tire size

    hi guys
    I'm looking into some 17in wheels. I really prefer to get some Falken Azenis sports, however the smallest size in 17 is 225/45. Am i gonna have any rubbing issues?
    I will be lowering the car with GC soon.

    probably.. 224/45 is way too big. the usual size for a 17" wheel on an E30 is 215/40. you're wider AND taller!

      On an E30 M3 you'd be able to fit 235/40/17; and even 245/40/17s but the E30 doesn't have the wide fenders and on a 17" 215/40/17 is probably as wide as you want to go, you MIGHT be able to get 225/40/17 with some work. The rear is a different story...

      If you want some bigger series tires on your car, you might want to look into going to a smaller wheel size. Take a look at this E30. 15" with 245s!

        yeah thanks michael...i'm gonna look at some 15 and 16 inch wheels now.
        I really want the azenis though...sticky cheap tires...

          I'm pretty sure those are 16x8's. That guy has extensive fender rolling, and very stiff GC springs.

          I would stick with 215/40-17's...and possibly 235/40-17's in the rear. With stiff GC springs and some wheel-well mods, you could fit 235/40's all around. Thats what I'm planning to do.

            You are probably right about the 16x8s....
            235/40/17 on an E30? I really don't know about that... It would be nice to see but you have to have somewhat of a 'wider' fender...

            Are you using these for the street and the track? Falken Azenis 512 or Sports?

              it will be used on the street. Its the azenis sport.
              I'm very tempted to keep the basketweaves and put some kumhos on it, but i 'should' only keep 1 track car.
