That's not true. Windshields are not that tough. I've punched straight through a windshield before. The glass used in the doors, on the other hand, is tempered, so it's a lot tougher.

The guy came this morning and he said "I don't know if I can do this, I may have to take it to the shop" then he goes and checks it out and realizes he has the wrong window! He didn't say why it was wrong. I was unaware that coupe and sedan glass is different from convertible.

Looks more like someone FELL into your windsheild, I cannot see how a sledgehammer hit would bend the wiper in such a way. My guess, someone was either thrown into your windshield, or was riding a bicycle, skateboard, etc, and fell into it, check your bumbpers for nicks etc. someone fell into my car once, I saw it happen, only thing damaged was where there body hit the car.

Either that, or something really fucking big was thrown at it, like a garbage can or something.

The Ins. is paying for it, but a good windsheild don't cost that much. I got a PPG one for $114.00 but i installed it.

Holy shit, that's fucked up!

Someone bashed in one of the canopy side windows of my company truck a few weeks ago, parked on the street right in front of my house. And in about the last year, we've had rashes of people just randomly vandalizing parked cars at night. I thank my lucky stars everyday for my garage.

Something similar happend to my 87 325 about 5 years ago except it was the rear window. They tossed a glass Snaple bottle through it, it hit my HU and destroyed it and I had kiwi/strawberry juice all over my dash and windsheild and I was finding broken glass inside for about 3 months.

actaully replacement glass doesn't chip as easy as the OEM BMW glass.

and glass insurance wont cover the replacement $/costs to use factory bmw glass, because the cara is too old. aftermarket is what you get installed unless you pay out of your own pocket.

Make sure you get new OEM BMW glass. none of that replacement shit.


The window is very easy to replace too. I did mine in about 30 min.
