Maybe I am just not thinking this one through, but how does adding i valve springs effect the performance of the engine? It's not like you are changing the valve lift....only a hot cam can do that. Seems like you are limited by the short lobes on the stock cam.

e's only have single valve springs, so adding the i inner valve springs gives you dual valve springs, and greatly reduces valve float/lets you spin higher RPM's.

        I see
        Thanks

Edit: Does adding the inner spring change your vavle settings or do you keep the stock limits when adjusting valves?

Okay, here's a quick, dumb question. Anyone know why the Jim C chip for the 318 costs $50 more?

I tought an M10b18 can't be chipped (correct me if I'm wrong) 'cause it has an L-jet injection system

            Only Motronics can be chipped

Well according to Turner's site, they do make one for the 90-91 318's. Too bad at the present moment that site is inopperable.

I guess it would have helped for me to say what type of car I have.

you would probably get a bit of knock if you put lower then the recomended grade fuel...

                              Quick fix:
Hang on to your original chip. Whenever you can't afford the good stuff just replace the performance chip with the original. Problem solved.

quick question about that picture of the M10. is that vaccuum hose that goes to the distributor coming directly off the intake manifold? what is the correct routing for the vaccuum hoses for the timing advance? i just want to make sure i've got it right. i'm pretty sure that i do, but just to be 100% ya know?

p.s. sorry to change the subject, but back on subject. is there any way to do any kind of electrical work with the AFM or coolant temp. sensor so that you can get more fuel to the engine? well, to put it simply. is it possible to get the same results as a chip from doing something like that, or would it really be just incredibly complicated?
