all eta owners with JC chips...

i just bought a JC chip from Timothy100 (thanks again man) and it has changed my car so much. i hit 95 in third gear and i was just wondering if this is normal, i love the overall feel of my car now, it feels less ETA-ish. What are some of your findings of the power etc.? i also noticed that i can chirp 2nd with the greatest of ease.

    thanks--

Sounds typical of an eta chip install....I'm used to a Dinan chip in an eta. Chirping 3rd should be a no-brainer too, if your clutch is good and your tires are 'OK'. The extra mph in each gear is very clear, since the rev limiter is now so much higher. I felt that the chip damn near converted the car into an 'i' car. It surely isn't the low revving slug from before the chip. Have fun!
SOMEBODY messed with my sig so now you get this one:

On paper that would add up to:
      121hp + 28hp=149 hp
      170ft/lbs + 28ft/lbs=198ft/lbs of torque

Add a 3.46lsd and a set of 325i inner valve springs and you'll hang right with the i guys. They will deny it but you'll be right there until you start up a long hill; then you can see how pretty their ellipsoids look in your rear view mirror.
Don't forget the good things Hitler did.

And yes, the Jim C chip changed my car.

Actually, those aren't quite the right stats. From the Jim C. chip, it gains a peak 28 hp, at a certain RPM, but the greatest hp achieved is 19 more than stock, so 140 hp. Not sure what it is for torque.

I hope you compare your '80s ETA to an modern Comman Rail Diesel engine and not an diesel from the 80's
