    More Parts Damage

Looking for opinions on damage. Can these parts be fixed and used?

If something's broken, normally you replace it. I don't even know what parts those are, but just replace them. They can't be expensive.

I just bought these off of someone on an e28 board. I am just trying to get opinions before I have to tell this guy he is selling junk.

No. Get new (or used, in good condition) parts.

You shouldn't be using used rocker shafts anyways, and replace the worn retainers.

huh? unless there is significant wear, there's no reason to replace them - the rockershaft is made of hard chrome steel, the rockers have brass bushings.. guess which wears and which doesn't?

that said, one of mine was bent.. so i replaced it :p

Rocker shafts are $30. They are always banged up driving them out. Just replace them.

I have sourced parts to send to my machinist. If they are within spec there is no reason not to. I got the rocker are shafts for free.

ah, that's the problem.. you're not supposed to bang them out. if you disassemble the head properly you don't have to use a hammer at all..

Does anyone know anyone with a 272, 284, or 288 schrick cam for sale? I don't want to spend $424 for a cam if I don't have to. As you can tell I am having a hard enough time finding people that sell good parts anyway.

I will take them. The pistons are going back to the seller. I just wonder if he knew what he was selling or if he is just clueless.

I called them and they said they do not use Schrick billets they source billets from Germany and then grind them. So I am going to keep trying to find a schrick for now and if I can't find one soon I will have them grind me one.
