If you had to own a FWD car...

What would it be? This is assuming several things:

    1. You are giving up E30s and RWD cars altogether. Reasons are whatever.
    2. Price is no object. It can be any car, as long as it's FWD.
    3. It can be any year, make or model.
    4. You can have 2 choices, but one has to be your favorite.

So with those stipulations, what would it be?

The runner up for me would be the 2007 Volkswagen GTi 2.0T. I hated the styling at first, but it really grew on me. And the 2.0T is a great engine, with tons of aftermarket support and mods.

And first place would still keep me in the BMW camp, a New Mini Cooper S with the John Cooper S Works package:

Now why the f*ck you'd give up on rwd, for ANY reason, is beyond me.

If we are talking about cars that are available here, and not across the world... then

Integra Type R - still one of the best of fwd cars
MKV GTI - styling is so so, but it's much better than the previous gen Mk4 gti (had one, then had the r32 which is still my fave but it's awd) and like you said 2.0T is a nice engine to tune (same as in my a4).

I'd probably go with some sort of quick VW. Either that or a Scion TC, they're actually nice cars.

An eg or ek civic hatch.

Totally a waste of the "price is no object" but if I had a FWD car (in addition to my e30, never give up!) it would have to be a honda hatch.

1991 Spirit R/T Turbo. 5.8 0-60 with a 5 speed. Still can whoop most cars at a stop light while looking like a granny car.

Or the new Altima Se-R/Coupe, those with a 6 speed absolutely screw!

Same. But I thought it would make for an interesting discussion.

                            but seriously,

pretty much in line w/ crowd so far..

if it's gotta be FWD, then it should be a good one.

Now that I think about it - it's the sort of car also available w/ AWD that I'd really like.

TT variant ('hate' how I like those)
                            Golf variant (r32)
                            then

                            MINI variant

also confessing toward Jap option going immediately to a nice Integra (damn reliability/balance of product!)

if it was made in a manual id get a 03ish acura cl type s and mod it a little bit (those engines are badass and sound it too)

other than that a mini cooper s is up there
