Never understood why people are so afraid of owning a FWD car.

I've owned many and will continue to own FWD VWs. My Hondas never did it for me, and why buy a FWD Audi when you can get one in AWD...

So I'd of course pick my Corrado as one but if I had to pick a new car to buy, I wouldn't hesitate to get a Mk5 GTI.

                  !977 Honda Civic FTW.

I had one of these around for like two years. 12" tires, two speed semi-auto. It went thru snow like an Artic Cat, and doubled as a lawn tractor. Balls.

I like my mother's TL type S. 286hp (i think), and way more car for the money than any 3 series. 6 speed option, powerful and very comfortable. And relatively cheap.

                      I've had a few FWD's before.

                      FWD's that i had:
                      1986 Dodge Daytona Turbo Z C/S, with a built 2.2 Turbo II
1986 Dodge Charger Shelby, with a built 2.2 Turbo II
                      1992 Dodge Daytona IROC, 3.0 V6 5speed

But if i had to get another one i'd get a Factory turbo Dodge Caravan and find a factory 5 speed to put in it. Then with the 2.5 i'd put a nice size turbo with 3" exhaust, do the Neon 16v head conversion, forged pistions, FMIC, and some other nice go fast parts.

2ed one i'd take would be a 1992-93 Dodge Daytona R/T. And of coarse it will have alot of go fast parts for it.

Way more car for money than any 3 series? The oldest of those (02?) in good shape are around 12K, I could do alot of E30 for that cash.

I would have to agree with you on this one. I've seen a few running at track days and they are a nimble & quick hot hatch. This would be my runner-up choice simply because its more edgy and focused.

My first choice is a tie between Audi A3 or MkV GTI with the 2.0T & DSG drivetrain. Both are much more refined and better suited for daily driving.

                                mini cooper s

At my old work, we bought one at a lease auction. The moment it came in I threw a dealer plate on it and peeled off the lot for a quick spin. When I came back, the sales manager had a angry/goofy look on her face and asked me..."was that you howling the tires in the mini?" I was like...yeah grinning at her. She then took the keys and proceeded to do the same thing and came back with a huge smile on her face.

Addictive little cars with great steering response, and fairly fast too.
